  8. up is accelerating in relation to the highway situation. Such 
  9. would seem to be the ironical status of the cultural reactionary. 
  10. When the trend is one way his resistance insures a greater 
  11. speed of change. Control over change would seem to consist in 
  12. moving not with it but ahead of it. Anticipation gives the power 
  13. to deflect and control force. Thus we may feel like a man who 
  14. has been hustled away from his favorite knothole in the ball 
  15. park by a frantic rout of fans eager to see the arrival of a movie 
  16. star. We are no sooner in position to look at one kind of event
